This little phrase gets a lot of consumers excited. But you should be VERY cautious when you see something like this when it comes to your eyewear. Most of the big box stores that have this type of promotion aren't being completely truthful. Here's a little example.
I walk into an eyeglass chain to see just how awesome this deal is. I go right up to the closest sales associate (by the way they aren't licensed opticians, who know what's best, they're sales associates trying to make sales) and ask about this BOGO promotion they're advertising so much. He sends me right over to the ugliest, cheapest looking frames they have. After I see how cheaply they're made, he insists that I look at the rest of their inventory because they're "better quality". I walked out at that point.
I recently had a customer come in and tell me they went ahead and fell for this type of sale. And she told me before they even got home with the newly received glasses, they broke. Why? Because they're cheaply made. And aren't meant to last long. Yes they should have lasted longer than a few minutes, that was an obvious defect. But there's no telling how much longer it would've lasted from there. She basically said she would never do that again. And I don't blame her.
